About us

Thank you for visiting our blog! We – Linnea, Martin, Ida, Felix, and Jesper – are a Swedish family that is gone sailing. On a break from our normal life in search of an adventure together as a family and a year-long summer. We left from Lomma Sweden in June 2024 and hope to make it to the Caribbean in December 2024 and then return home in July/August 2025. Time will tell.

Our normal landbased life is in Lomma Sweden where Linnea works as a medical doctor in Lund and Martin works as a pilot. We have been sailing together since 2011 and in other settings before that.

Frenesisailing.com is a private blog published to stay in touch with family and friends. We aim to give approximately one update per week. Sometimes longer posts and sometimes a short sign of life.

Our boat, Frenesi, is a Nauticat 43, hull #58 built in the Siltala yard in Finland 1986. It is a Sparkman Stevens-designed deck saloon boat built for long-distance cruising. She is ketch rigged with a solid thick single laminate hull, large tanks, a strong engine, and rig. Three cabins with 7 berths, two toilets, and a lot of storage. She is not modern but we think she could be the perfect boat for us.

We bought Frenesi from a Swedish couple in Portugal in 2020 and brought her home. In the last few years, we have invested significant time and money in a refit to prepare her for our adventure. Projects include:
