What a day! Getting up at 6 am after 2.5 hours of sleep to wrap up the evacuation of our house, go grocery shopping, swim in the Lomma canal (Höje å) to try to get a lost fish rod holder up from the bottom (we concluded that there probably are better swimming spots around) among other random activities. Then… it happened. The understanding that we will be gone from family, friends and from Sweden for more than a year suddenly dawned on all family members. It was emotional for all of us to wave goodbye to the crowd of friends that loyally had gathered on the dock. We were overwhelmed and incredibly grateful and happy for all the love and tried to stay present in all discussions ranging from boat technology and cruising to more personal matters with loved ones.
By 11 a.m it was time to go, throw the mooring lines and leave!
Short cruise in the nice summer day in moderate southerly winds to Dragør 16 NM away – probably the shortest possible leg from Lomma to somewhere abroad. The mood ranged from tears to excitement and laughter. Our fantastic neighbors Patrik and Susanne came to bring us our gennaker that we had forgotten. Ernest came on an equally fantastic surprise visit to have dinner and beers, watch football (DEN-GER) and to keep us company. By bedtime the mood onboard peaked and the kids fell asleep after 10 seconds pillow time.
Bon chance! That’s gorgeous!!! We are all watching with excitement!! A shame the Danes didn’t treat you to a win, think you deserve that.☀️🥳💫💯

Tack Kusin! Vi följer tyskarna mot Spanien imorgon också. Vi funderar på om vi för husfridens skull hejar tyskt? Kramar från Cuxhaven!
